20) Having workers at the house beginning every morning at 7am. (BTW, we moved!)
19) Asking one such worker if I can adopt him as my dad...we bond like that. I tell him how many memories this home has for me, he tells me how much he loves Matt's leaf blower.
18) Having your washer/dryer finally arrive but finding the brand new washer broken before it was ever working, forcing a service man to come out the next day to fix it, finding he cannot fix it, placing an order for a loaner, and finally having that arrive 3 days later, while still waiting on the brand new one you forked out lots of money for to be repaired.
17) Finally deciding to cook for the 1st time in over a week and discover the cookware you own is not compatible with induction cooktops, and the closest place to buy them is 60 miles away.
16) Having the anti-lock brake light turn on in your van demanding immediate service, which too, is 60 miles away.
15) Having a daughter (Lil) fighting a viral infection and a 103 degree temp and wouldn't eat or sleep for 4 days straight.
14) All the while wondering when Matt is getting home and then remembering he is in DC for 4 days doing this:
13) Putting one daughter down for a nap and the other (unhealthy) one finally asleep in your arms on your bed as a plumber pounds on your bedroom door needing to work on the tub.
12) Finally scheduling an appt. for Reagan to get her bushy hair cut, just to have to cancel it due to continued neglect.
11) Having #s 12-20 occurring simultaneously.
10) Due to this mass destruction of appliances, vehicles, human beings, canines and mental states...ordering a large Papa John's pizza on Thurs. night and eating it for every meal until Sunday with the exception of McDonald's every morning, and regretting not also picking up a gallon of ice cream.
9) Realizing (again) in moments of emotional crises that life without a mother is the pits.
8) Beaming with pride as your daughter (Di) manages to be such a big girl at the sitter while separated from her sister for the very 1st time since they were 9 months old.
7) Wiping your daughter's snotty nose with a kleenex, then watching her grab a kleenex and wipe her own snotty nose.
6) Wiping the kitchen counter-tops with a lysol wipe, then watching your daughter wipe the kitchen cabinets with her snotty kleenex.
5) Waking up on the 1st morning in your new home and while making coffee, have a nostalgic moment realizing you were looking out the very same window that your mother looked out of every morning for 30 years.4) Watching "Something Borrowed" on the back deck with a
3) Finding that really all you need to survive for 4 days with 2 kids and a dog is pizza, wine, lysol, medicine and large sugar-free vanilla nonfat lattes from McDonalds.
2) Celebrating Labor Day with Diana and cousins but without Lilly, therefore Di's Labor Day box was themed what else but....Lilly.
