Now I know how the parents of Charlie and his cute brother felt when they captured the now infamous video "Charlie Bit My Finger!" Why do I know how they feel? Oh just because I received a testimonial from them via the agency they had to license with in order to control the media mania who has now been reaching out to us. I mean SERIOUSLY people...this is insane!
Our video can now be found on the 3 major networks: ABC, CBS, NBC. This includes Good Morning America, The Today Show, MSNBC, and World Top News Today. We've been contacted by The Ellen Degeneres Show but so far haven't seen anything. It's now on worldwide Yahoo News! websites, the UK Daily Mail, IMDB, Bing, Hollybaby (didn't what that even was but I like the website - for celeb mommies!) and a slew of others - I can't even begin to list them all. We are currently at 717,218 views, which is 200,000 more than we had yesterday, and about 700,000 more than we had last week. I am totally boggled by this mania!
Many have asked how this happened and what is going on as we speak. I posted this video on YouTube in 2010 after I taped it, made it public in order for people to view it via this blog, fast forward to 2012 when I was sitting in a doctor's appointment and received an email from someone from The Today Show and MSNBC wanting to air it. I came home about 2 hours later, looked at my YouTube inbox and had about 20 messages from licensing agencies, national and worldwide media. I told Matt, Matt called his dad, and his dad goes, "Matt, go to CBSnews.com. Your video is on the homepage." Ummmmmmmmmmm.........WHAT?!
Since then it's been a whirlwind of inquiries...some offering money, most just wanting to air it non-commital. As I learned today, none of these media news networks actually need our permission since it's the news and they can do and say as they please, but that the "reputable" networks will almost always ask for permission as a courtesy. Some have, some haven't.
It's been fun and Matt and I are enjoying the 34 seconds of 'fame.' We find it harmless and the girls are clueless. They actually don't even know it's them in the video and just scream for that pacifier!
However, with the good comes the bad and the ugly. The bad was the terrible reporting from the CBS reporter who said, "Lauren tells me she posted this video thinking her mother would find this funny." Does anyone REALLY think I said that?! I mean, come on woman...I told you I posted it for family and you just assume I have a loving mother who wants to watch videos of my kids? I mean, even if my mother did exist, what if she was a hateful wench who I ran away from when I was 15? Good grief.
As for the ugly, here was a comment posted on YouTube:
why are they so fat?? put them on a damn treadmill so they lose that fat...fat ass americans...
Who says that?! If I didn't think it was so hysterical I might actually be mad! At least these two people have my back...check out their responses to that comment:
Please stop trolling and it's even more sad that you had to post that comment on a video featuring babies. Get a life.
They are BABIES, you humongous dimwitted gnat.

Video Gone Viral
For weeks I had been pondering what my next blog entry should be. I managed to skip right over Easter and the opportunity to showcase my girls in their Sunday best, and then there was the time that we changed to toddler beds and as a result have given up every single precious minute of nap time. Last week during one nap I caught Lilly in the play room drawing on the chalkboard. That same week I caught Diana hanging from her curtains, and today while in the kitchen I heard a small whisper "mommy. mommy." and found Lilly in her play high heels confessing she had pooped. All of these were blog-worthy and photo-capturing moments but I still found myself sitting idle at the computer not having the what?...motivation?...energy?...to blog about it.
I guess my unplanned blogging hiatus was all part of God's plan in an attempt to wow all 14 of my followers with my next explosive blog entry! And today is the day for that. And it all started with a pacifier. That damned pacifier that has cost me so many precious moments of sleep - my tots now are late to bed and early to rise - and mommy breaks - they no longer nap. That pacifier has haunted me from the day we got rid of them and based on this new development, just might haunt me for the rest of my life!
Recall the day I posted this entry:
http://twinbajoreks.blogspot.com/2010/11/pacifier-war.html
At the time it generated a lot of laughs and a few people said, "Send it to Ellen!" Well, today, a year and half later, I can say....ELLEN CAME CALLING!
Well, not really Ellen HERSELF, but someone from her show. And someone from NBC, msnbc, the TODAY show, Yahoo, the company who represents most "Videos gone Viral" including the now famous 'Charlie Bit My Finger' video, a couple of entertainment companies, and well over a handful of Japanese television stations. Oh and The Herald, our local newspaper.
If you couldn't view the video above, perhaps you can find it on one of the countless websites that have now posted it, including CBS News. Ummm...yes, it is on the home page of www.cbsnews.com!

I have absolutely no idea how overnight it went from having a couple thousand hits to now having well over 300,000! But I guess I know the answer to the question I posed two months ago, "Local Notoriety: What's Next?" Answer: Video Gone Viral.
Stay tuned folks!

March Madness
My blogging furlough is over which means I'M BACK!!! I hadn't planned on taking the entire month of March off but I'm sure it had something to do with giving up pacifiers, Matt's grandmother passing away/road trip to New Jersey, my grandmother with health complications, two kids with hand, foot & mouth, a mama with a sinus infection, a birthday (for me), an anniversary (for us), a couple of baby showers, birthday parties, and spring break (for all my babysitters, not for us). In other words, I plead temporary insanity.
Because I will slap myself in 20 years for not writing about my kids giving up their beloved pacifiers, I need to go back in time for a minute. The date was Wednesday, March 14, 2012 and it was sunny, totally irrelevant, but it was. Last minute, I decided that instead of implementing our plan to cut the pacifiers as advised to us from fellow parents of pacifier-crazed kids, I would have the girls mail them to their baby cousin Leah who just so happens to be their favorite person on Earth. I felt like my girls would actually understand the concept of that and luckily, I was right. So after a trip to the post office, they were gone. Like FOR REAL gone. We mailed them to Indianapolis. Surprisingly, Diana was the easiest of the two to break which TOTALLY threw me for a loop. That girl asked for her pacifier all day long, while Lil wasn't quite as obsessed, or so I thought. However, Lilly throws a fit at bedtime, wakes up about an hour earlier every single day, and is a terrible napper. But neither has ever actually asked me for the pacifier and never once has whined for it during the day. They simply point out to me (fifty times a day) "Mama, Yee-aw has passie." Yup, girls, she does. But we have bigger fish to fry. Time for potty training!
BTW, why did no one tell me that at two years old (TYO) it would be like toddler boot camp?! Pacifiers, potty training, big girl beds? People always try to reassure me by saying, "Have you ever seen someone graduate high school with a pacifier in his mouth?" Ummm....NO, but I suspect his poor mom went through hell trying to get rid of the darn thing! Someone's gotta teach these kids to pee on the potty!
Another reason for my leave of absence, I am managing my daughters' new rock band. Di is lead singer while Lil is on guitar. Their talent is first rate. Move over Sophia Grace and Rosie...Ellen has some new guests in town!
Happy Anniversary to my hubby of fourhundred years!!!

2 Year Photos
We had the girls' 2 year photos taken a few weeks ago in Indy and as usual, Jamie did a fabulous job!! I think this was one of my favorite shoots so far, probably because my kids were in a kick ass mood!
Enjoy the photos and the slideshow at the end! Di is in the cream sweater and Lil is in the gray, if you all still can't tell them apart. ;)

Local Notoriety: What's Next?
My little nuggets have graced the pages of our local newspaper!
If you are keeping up, this is their 2nd publication in their two years of life! The 1st was an ad in the Indianapolis Monthly where they "modeled" for an Indianapolis baby boutique.
This leaves me wondering...what's next?
MOVIE STARS?
Mary-Kate and Ashley Olson
It is my understanding I would have had to enroll the girls in acting classes while they were still in the womb, so we missed the boat on this one. I'm also pretty sure MK wound up an odd bird.
SINGERS?
![]() |
| Benji & Joel Madden My girls are WAY too shy to become rock stars. |
Did you know that Elvis had a twin brother who died at birth and JT had a twin sister who also died at birth?
TENNIS PLAYERS?
Bob and Mike Bryan
While it IS in the genes, especially those Burger genes, I am going to be too lazy of a mom to escort my kids all around the nation to play tennis.
MODELS?
Gisele and her twin
I doubled the girls' height at their 2 year appt. and they are set to be a stumpy 5'5".
PLAYBOY BUNNIES?
Skanky twins and Hef
I am going to speak for Matt and say "HELL NO."
CHILDREN OF FAMOUS PARENTS?
![]() |
| Vivienne and Knox Pitt While Matt and I are constantly being confused for Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt...I mean, duh...unfortunately our twins have only gone so far as Ohio, a far cry from Namibia. |
![]() |
| Mady and Cara Gosselin The only way that's going to happen is if I go on to do this: |

| And if I go on and do THAT, then you can go ahead and kiss my existence goodbye and my twins will only be famous for their totally wrecked and screwed up life. |

Turning Two: Part 3
This past Saturday we threw the girls a giant birthday bash. The "girls" being Lil, Di, Addie and Ellie. Since all 4 birthdays are within 2 weeks of each other and all 4 kids are (obviously) girls and 95% of the invitees would be the same for the 4 kids, Krista and I decided to just throw one party. We kept the party to family only, and we still managed to have 43 people there! Memo to Segers: stop reproducing! (I know, practice what you preach, mom of twins...)
I have no idea how the party went. I honestly don't. I had a great time decorating the house, cooking and dressing up my little ballerinas for their big bash, but that's about the last memory I have. And no, I didn't spike the lemonade...it's just when you throw 18 kids all under the age of 7 in one house, you are the host and the mom of two of the birthday girls, you somehow miss out on the ENTIRE two hour event and wind up asking your husband at midnight, "Was that fun or was that a complete shit show?" His reply, "I have absolutely no idea."
A few signs that the party was a "success":
1) I didn't get a single picture of my girls standing by each other in their cute leotards.
2) Much less all 4 girls in a picture.
3) After the party, our play room / basement looked like a tsunami hit it.
4) Our toilet somehow managed to get clogged by a mysterious yellow ball.
5) Our new chalkboard wall looks like a grafitti'd New York subway.
6) We still can't get our TV to work down there.
7) My girls ask for a new present every single day.
8) My girls ask for a cupcake every single day.
9) I took a 4 hour nap on Sunday.
10) And a 4 hour nap on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
THESE LOVELY PHOTOS WERE TAKEN FOR THE INVITATIONS:

Turning Two: Part 2
HAPPY 2nd BIRTHDAY, DIANA AND LILLY!!
| DIANA |
| LILLY |
What a year it's been!
Last year on this day Di had just started taking her 1st steps while Lil would still be crawling for another month. They were waving and clapping and babbling. They had no interest in their gifts other than eating the wrapping paper.
Today, the girls were running around, climbing, going down slides, and telling me that they wanted "pizza and breadsticks" for dinner (shocking), and that they wanted "Mick, Goof, Pete, Duck, and no no Sabo" at dinner with them. Obviously they have developed a love for Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, and a fear of Phil and Krista's dog Sabo (who, unlike our poor pooch, still feels she is capable of receiving love.) When they (ahem, Lil) opened each gift, they threw it aside and said, "more presents." Both girls would light up when they saw a new present, but they still weren't all that concerned with what was inside...they just wanted "more, more more!"
I am amazed by how grown up my girls seem. They understand just about everything and their vocabulary has greatly improved. There are definitely some cons to this, which I had always been warned about. Today, en route to Evansville, our conversations went much like this:
"Mama, shoe off."
"Mama, shoe on."
"Mama, look, school bus! MAMMMMMAAAA...LOOOOOOK...SCHOOL BUS!"
"Mama, snack."
"No mama, no suck, crack." (Translation for CPS: "I don't want a sucker, I want a cracker.")
"Mama, where's Gaya? He at work." (Gaya = daddy for some God known reason.)
"Mama, I sick."
"Mama, Leah cries. She need paci."
"Uh oh, Mama, I drop crack."
"Mama, I want book."
"Mama, I farted."
"Mama, look. MAMA, LOOK. MAMMMMMMMMMAAAAAA, LOOOOOOOOOOK."
(I would look and one would show me how she covers her mouth when she coughs, and the other would show me how she can put a cheez-it on her tongue and stick it out at me.)
That was all in the span of about 5 minutes. There was no conversing whatsoever...I was being verbally attacked.
But, I personally think my girls are awesome! They have their moments, usually one every 4 or 5 minutes, but that is up from every 2 or 3. They still won't let me leave the room without following, pee by myself, talk on the phone, type on the computer, or essentially do anything that isn't 100% attention on them, and God forbid they don't attach themselves to my leg at every single social outing; but yeah, other than that, they are awesome! They are still my miracle babies who put a smile on my face every single day, motivate me to better, and remind me of my blessings. After 2 years I still want to eat their cheeks off...1) because I love them and 2) because those cheeks are as perfectly edible as ever!
Can't wait to see what year 3 has in store for us!!!

| All good things must come to an end...Di latched onto Lil's arm in a bitter battle over the slide and left a hefty bite mark! Lil did not cry but she was NOT happy about it! This was totally out of character for Di, so I am thinking this was a result of 2 years of frustration over Lilly being "The Boss!" |
![]() |
| Immediately after bath time the girls darted for the slide. I am going to a) regret posting this and b) regret having their play room, bedroom and bathroom all on the same level! |
